Our Work
From water monitoring and habitat restoration to community training and collaborative research, our programs generate the knowledge, partnerships, and capacity needed to support healthy watersheds and thriving salmon populations.

Water Monitoring
Water monitoring is a foundational function of the MWMT. It provides the long-term environmental data needed to understand and steward the Morice and Upper Bulkley watersheds. Through integrated water quality, temperature, and hydrological monitoring, we track watershed conditions, identify emerging trends, and improve understanding of the factors that influence salmon habitat and aquatic ecosystem health. We also use monitoring results, technical analysis, and community input to adapt and refine our monitoring priorities over time, ensuring our programs remain responsive to changing watershed conditions and stewardship needs.
Data Management
The MWMT's Data Management Program ensures watershed monitoring information is organized, analyzed, and shared in a way that supports transparency, collaboration, and informed decision-making. By maintaining high-quality datasets and improving public access to monitoring results, we help communities, partners, and decision-makers better understand and steward the watershed.

Outreach and Training
Our Outreach & Training Program supports community engagement, education, and capacity building related to watershed health and stewardship. Through training, workshops, outreach events, educational resources, and knowledge-sharing opportunities, we help build local monitoring capacity, strengthen connections to the watershed, and ensure community perspectives help guide our work.
Collaborative Restoration
Healthy watersheds require both monitoring and action. Our Collaborative Restoration Program works with partners to identify, plan, and support restoration opportunities that improve watershed resilience and aquatic habitat. By combining monitoring data, Indigenous knowledge, and collaborative planning, we help inform restoration efforts that support thriving salmon populations and healthy ecosystems for future generations.
